Discover a very different side of Hungary beyond Budapest. This full-day private tour takes you into the countryside east and northeast of the capital, combining historic towns, traditional villages, castles and Hungarian wine country. Depending on your interests, the tour can include Gödöllő, Hollókő and Eger, each offering a completely different experience. Gödöllő is home to the former royal palace of Emperor Franz Joseph and Queen Elisabeth, while Hollókő is a beautifully preserved traditional village and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Eger combines a historic castle and atmospheric Baroque old town with a long-standing wine culture. The exact itinerary is planned together with you, depending on what you would most like to see and how much time you want to spend at each location. The day involves a fair amount of driving, but also time to walk around, explore and enjoy the places we visit. There is also flexibility for a lunch or wine stop depending on the itinerary. This is a private driving tour with a local guide, so you can enjoy the countryside and smaller destinations that are difficult to combine using public transport. The total duration can be up to 10 hours, depending on the route and pace of the day. Dogs are welcome at no extra charge. We can provide drinking water and a safe, dedicated space for your dog to travel comfortably in the vehicle.
